With 2-3 coats too, I have never noticed any clumping which I really like.
But once you get hold of it, the application is not a difficult task. Though there is a bit of difficulty while applying to the corners, it’s better to wipe off the excess product from the tip, else it deposits a lot of product on the lashes there. Since the brush is thick, it does take some time to get used to. The brush goes on evenly and on using it in the shimmy motion, as suggested by the brand, it covers all the lashes and coats them evenly. The product has some fibers which are for lengthening the lashes and volumizing them. The brush layers the product well and it is wise to clean its edges or wipe the extra back into the tube before application. The formula is not very thick or goopy, neither is it runny. Shade/Pigmentation/Performance: MAC describes the color as extreme black and it is true to its name, just the way I like it.
